Program Coordinator

Summary of Position:
The Program Coordinator splits time between Ethos’ two Portland-based programs, Music Corps and classes at headquarters at 2 N Killingsworth. When supporting Music Corps, free off-site after school classes at schools and community centers, this position works with the Program Director and leads at partner sites, mostly SUN schools, to coordinate class logistics, instrument deliveries, attendance and demographic data, and instructor trainings. The Program Coordinator assists with lessons at Ethos headquarters by supporting admissions staff at the front desk. This is a position whose day-to-day duties will be notably variable.
Essential Responsibilities:
Music Corps
1. Gather demographic and attendance information for all students enrolled in 28+ weekly Music Corps classes
2. Keep records in accordance with Portland Children’s Levy grant requirements
3. Teach and substitute after-school music classes
4. Assist with observations and student performances
5. Assist with delivery of instructor trainings
6. Maintain constructive relationships with teachers and site supervisors
7. Assist with instrument deliveries to class sites
In-House Lessons
1. Work 2-3 front desk shifts a week – customer service, answer phones, reply to emails
2. Assist with instructor trainings
3. Assist with classroom setup and instrument coordination
4. Assist with summer camps – check in/out, class transitions, recess
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience teaching music to youth in a group setting
2. Enthusiasm for bringing music education to youth who wouldn’t otherwise have access
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Google sheets
4. Attention to detail
5. A reliable vehicle to travel to outreach class sites
6. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred
Pay and Benefits:
Pay: $17-$20/hr
Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday*
Benefits: employer-provided medical insurance, 11 paid holidays, PTO, and a 30 minute weekly private music lesson.
