Ethos’ Rural Program Expansion
Ethos is Now Accepting Applications for Assistance with Rural Music Programs!
Portland based non-profit Ethos, Inc. was created in 1998 in direct response to school budget cuts that almost completely eliminated arts in K-12 schools. Since that time, Ethos has helped thousands of underserved youth gain access to music education through its various programs. Building off of past successes and ongoing community need, Ethos is expanding its partnership with AmeriCorps to offer new opportunities for rural communities throughout Oregon. The goal of this expanded partnership is to increase access to music education for youth in rural areas and engage communities in the management and support of sustainable music programming for their town.
Scope of Service
Ethos programming is scalable and can range from 1 to 40 hours per week depending on community need. Partner sites are expected to pay a portion of the overall project costs. Depending on scope of service, the partner co-pay will range from $500-$7,000. If selected, organizations will work with Ethos to design and implement programming that meets their community’s specific needs. Examples of programming include one day assemblies or workshops, 1 to 10 week full-day residencies, self-sustaining classes, and year-long residencies with service both during and after-school, etc. All programming must incorporate community involvement.
