Rural Outreach Program
Ethos’ Rural Outreach Program (ROP) helps rural schools and communities develop unique and independent solutions to providing and supporting music education. Programming ranges from short- and long-term in-school residencies, instrument lessons, assemblies, workshops, and arts integration training for teaching staff and administrations.
Through a partnership with AmeriCorps and Oregon Volunteers, Ethos places AmeriCorps members in schools as music educators and facilitators. AmeriCorps members live in the towns they serve, provide music lessons in the schools and communities, and help build a sustainable music program. Past and Current Rural Outreach Program schools include: Condon, Dufur, Elkton, Falls City, Fossil, Lakeview, Long Creek, Madras, Monument, and Spray.
Through a generous grant from the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), Ethos’ ROP is able to bring performers from around the state to perform for students and community members, at no cost to the community or school.
