Music Across Oregon – Rural Outreach
Music Across Oregon reaches more than 2,400 students each year in underserved communities throughout rural Oregon. Through a partnership with AmeriCorps, Oregon Volunteers, Oregon Cultural Trust, and Oregon Community Foundation, Ethos is able to provide increased access to music education and engage communities in the management and support of sustainable music programming.
Ethos strives to tailor its programs to the needs and strengths of the communities it serves. Programming ranges from assemblies, workshops, short-term residencies, instrument lessons and year-long residencies with service both during and after-school. Additionally, all programming emphasizes community engagement and involvement.
During the 2015-2016 school year, Ethos placed 10 full-time members to live and teach music in the towns of Fossil, Condon, Monument, Falls City, Kings Valley, Metolius, Madras and the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.
Ethos is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members for the upcoming 2016-17 school year. Please visit our Jobs page for the full position description.
