Make Waves

Make Waves is a youth-centered project focusing on the educational landscape, providing music education to underserved communities. The project sources funds and instruments to provide free individual lessons to up to 20 students for a year. Make Waves works within communities to diversify the educational experience for the children and educators alike.

Ethos already provides a very accessible sliding-scale music program, but accessibility isn't just financial. Many students and families simply do not feel comfortable, safe, or welcome in programs that don’t reflect them culturally, ethnically, or through other personal identities. Ethos is utilizing the partnership with Musicians in Solidarity to expand our network of diverse teaching musicians and create a more inclusive space where all kids feel welcome and valued. By participating in this project, Ethos will strengthen existing programs with increased equity, inclusion and diversity in both outreach to students and in our recruitment and hiring practices - which will also directly benefits the students. By partnering with Musicians in Solidarity , we can further our mission of creating equitable access to music education for all students, particularly in underserved communities.
