Crystal de Alba, Executive Director

Crystal brings a wealth of experience in community organizing with a strong background in nonprofit leadership, education, and fundraising. Prior to Ethos, Crystal worked as an employment equity advocate for people experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, she trained teams across various regions, successfully negotiated ADA accommodations and was a principal contributor to her organization receiving a rare 100% CARF accreditation score for new programs. Crystal has also collaborated on many community outreach projects and fundraisers. As program coordinator for an educationally focused nonprofit, she ensured funding, managed marketing strategy, collaborated with galleries, chambers of commerce and culturally specific organizations to create multimedia edu-tainment for students and their communities. She has lived and worked in both rural areas and large cities, in and around many different cultures.

In addition to this, Crystal taught in the public school system and in private education, using individualized teaching modalities. She has seen firsthand the effect that eliminating music and arts programs have on student achievement and engagement. Her vision is to see music education become a regularly funded and expected part of curriculum in all schools. Until then, she believes Ethos is providing a much needed service in the region. She holds a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Art from CSU Fresno. She comes from a long line of musicians and is carrying on the tradition with her own family.  She has been a long time friend of Ethos through volunteering and attending many events and performances over the years. Crystal is proud to be serving Ethos’ mission as its Executive Director.
