Patrick York

Summer CampInstructor pics 138Instrument Coordinator
Scientist by training, but a natural philosopher at heart. After working in the Naval Nuclear Power program, Patrick worked in developing test equipment to study the presence of volatile organic compounds in the environment in order to confirm the thoroughness of environmental clean-ups and everyday background exposures. Patrick took up music late in life, but his passion for the guitar brought him to Ethos where he began by volunteering as a rock band teaching assistant before becoming a full time staff member. Currently Patrick coordinates and repairs instruments in addition to teaching one of the student rock bands. Patrick believes music saves by unlocking and increasing a person’s potential, more so in children. Patrick is self taught, and believes that practice and listening solve most issues over time when you’re learning to play an instrument. He believes “it’s all just a matter of having fun and making a joyful noise.”
