Mike Burnett

Mike Burnett is a guitar player, songwriter, and music producer from Central California. In 1999, he graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in Audio Production. Mike is currently attending Portland State University where he studies music theory and jazz guitar.
Since moving to Portland in 2007, Mike has been busy playing in the band Greenladies, writing and editing for the Portland culture blog Describetheruckus.com, and producing music professionally. Mike continues to look for ways to become more involved in his community and to add to the creative and community-minded energy that exists in Portland.
Mike began volunteering for Ethos in early 2009 because he believed strongly in the value of music education and admired Ethos’ commitment to preserving that value in the face of dwindling budgets. At Ethos he found a hard working, smart team having a profound effect on its community. Mike was hired in September of 2009 to teach guitar and rock band Music Corps classes in Portland schools, and he looks forward to becoming more involved with Ethos and the Portland community at large.
