Michelle Boss Barba
Artistic Director, Director of Programs, Piano, Guitar
Michelle taught Ethos’ first keyboard class in the fall of 1999. Soon after that, she spent a year at Ethos as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Member. She then came on as Director of Programs. As Director of Programs, Michelle coordinates instructors and staff while helping to evaluate the quality of music instruction. She also translates for Spanish speaking clients and aids in grant writing. Her volunteer experiences have ranged from being a hospital aid to organizing aid to migrant camps. Michelle graduated from the University of Portland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and English and a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology.
Michelle has been playing the piano since the age of 6 and guitar since the age of 18, along with participating in various choirs since the age of 10. At Ethos Michelle teaches piano, guitar, and music appreciation. Se habla español.
