Michael McGuire

Woodwinds, Brass & Jazz Band
Michael McGuire has been a teacher with Ethos since 2007.  He has taught class for band, jazz improvisation, rock band, recorder, and also lessons in clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. Michael first started learning the saxophone in the fourth grade eventually playing for the concert band, jazz band, and marching band of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. Michael graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors degree in music with teacher certification. He studied the alto saxophone under Dr. Patrick Jones and Mr. David Sublette both of who were pupils of Eugene Rousseau, also an understudy of ‘Le Patron’, Marcel Mule.
Shortly after graduation, Michael was hired as the strings director for Gateway School District in Monroeville Pennsylvania. As director, he taught 4th grade beginning lessons for the violin, viola and cello, and orchestras for 4th-12th grade. While as strings director, Michael studied violin, viola, cello, double bass and string repair under Dr. Eugene Reichenfeld.
