Kyleen King
Violin
Kyleen King has been an active musician since the age of 3 when she began private study on the violin. Over the past 15 years she has performed in groups ranging from string quartets to rock bands, all the while gaining experience composing, arranging and recording music of all kinds. She studied music education at Missouri State University and continued private violin instruction under Dr. David Hays. After receiving a diploma in Audio Technology from SAE Institute in Nashville, TN, she moved to the pacific NW and currently operates a home recording studio, teaches at Sound Roots School of Music and performs with Arcadia String Quartet and independent artists/bands.
As a teacher, she uses a modern approach that includes composition, listening, recording and arranging exercises in combination with classical technique, reading, theory and ear-training. She strives to instill confidence and encourage creativity in her students, regardless of age or experience.
