Crystal Meneses
Choir, Voice, Intergenerational Women’s Choir
Crystal has been involved in Ethos’ Music Corps Program since 2002. Over the years, Crystal has facilitated choir at Rose City Park Elementary, D.A. Grout Elementary, Whittaker Middle School, James John Elementary, Sabine Elementary, Forest Park Elementary, and Morrison Family Services. Crystal fell in love with singing in third grade when she was asked to audition for the Greater Gresham Kids Kwire later named, Mt. Hood Youth Choir. After singing with the Mt. Hood Youth Choir for four years, Crystal sang with the Portland Symphonic Girl Choir. Crystal is currently attending Marylhurst University working towards her BM degree in Music Therapy. Her practicum experience in the music therapy program has given her many opportunities to explore different populations. She has been supervised by Christine Korb who is the founder of the Drum Trail Project, a program that brings drumming to children diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. As a music therapy student, Crystal has also had the privilege to bring music to the Woodmont School for Dyslexics and she is currently working with wise elders diagnosed with Alzheimer ’s disease and clients diagnosed with mental disorders such as Schizophrenia.
Crystal teaches with the intention of compassion and exploration. She engages students in learning musicianship skills, music theory, performance etiquette, and appropriate body use for singing.
