Andrew Arriaga
Through Ethos I am a Rural Music Facilitator. In May 2011 I earned my Connecticut Music Pre-K-12 teaching endorsement where I studied flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin, and voice. I also have six years of experience as a professional music educator. Prior to coming to Oregon I instructed guitar, banjo, mandolin, rock band, and guitar ensemble classes. I served as Assistant Music Director at All Saints Episcopal Church for nearly seven years. I was formerly employed as a long-term substitute teacher for middle school guitar and piano classes. I authored two books for the Hal Leonard Easy Guitar series including “VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs for Easy Guitar” and “Fleetwood Mac Easy Guitar Collection”. I received a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Performance: Guitar from Western Connecticut State University in 2008.
As a teenager I worked for five summers as a camp counselor with children ages 6-16. I love watching sporting events, motion pictures, and television. My most memorable sporting event was the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. I strive to empower students by learning as much as possible and developing a student centered curriculum.
