Executive Director Search

Ethos, Inc. announces search for Executive Director

PORTLAND, ORE – Jedidiah Chavez, Executive Director of Ethos, Inc. in Portland, has announced his plan to resign effective at the end of August, 2017.  Jedidiah has worked with the organization since 2007 first hired as a Grantwriter, later promoted to Director of Development and ultimately appointed Executive Director in November, 2011.

“With Jedidiah’s legacy of hard work and dedication, Ethos is well positioned for the future.  We have a succession plan to help the transition to a new executive director, and the Board / Ethos looks forward to continuing to provide the much needed access to music and music education to children in the areas and populations we serve,” said Ethos Board President and Executive Director Search Chair, Kat Rosenbaum.

“Ethos has been a remarkable experience,” said Jedidiah.  “I look forward to continued involvement with the organization as a donor and volunteer.  I have no doubt that Ethos’ leadership team will select an Executive Director that will position the organization for further growth and community impact.  I would like to thank the incredible staff, instructors, supporters and Board of Directors for their amazing commitment and support.  Leveraging the strong foundation built by Ethos’ Founder, Charles Lewis, we have continued Ethos’ legacy as a high-impact and responsive community organization.”

During his tenure with Ethos, Chavez has significantly increased contributed revenue while also creating and sustaining relationships with Ethos’ families, staff, instructors, and Board of Directors.  He was a member of Ethos’ management team who successfully secured $1.5 million for capital improvements to Ethos’ North Portland headquarters and he was also instrumental in forming a partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service to place ten AmeriCorps members in small towns across Oregon.

Ethos’ Board of Directors is conducting a national search for a new Executive Director.  Further details, including the job description, may be found here.
